Ivan Sasman studied Architecture at the University of Cape Town. A few years after graduating, he won a British Council scholarship to study at Edinburgh University, and later at the Oxford Urban Design Centre. He attained a Graduate Diploma in Urban Design and a Masters Degree in Urban Planning.
Ivan’s greatest achievement to date has been the Forensic Science Laboratory in Parow, Cape Town. The Forensic Science Laboratory won a Highly Commended Construction World Best Projects 2012 Award and a Highly Commended International Property Awards Africa for Public Service Architecture in South Africa 2012-2013 and is one of the most complex buildings in Africa.

Nicky Sasman is a spatial planner with a wide range of experience from climate change and sustainable development, to land development, to capacity-building and facilitation, and project management. She has maintained contact with academia throughout, as she forges close links between theory and practice.
Her 16 years of experience in local government, in varying roles, has placed her to manage promoting the public good, while minimising negative externalities.
